Update

Levi finally started walking the week of his birthday. He hasn't looked back since. The little guy still refuses to wear shoes and will kick them off before we even get out of the car. Shopping with him is a chore now since he wants to get down and walk EVERYWHERE ... barefoot, of course. He has recently discovered the joy of the outdoors and wants to play outside all the time. He says "ball" and "dog" and makes a doggie sound. He also likes to sing and dance along to music with his big brother.

Ethan is still astounding us with the things he says. You never know what is going to come out of his mouth next. Seriously, is this kid eight years old already? Shopping is still loads of fun for him. He can pick out the names of many places around town (FedEx Kinko's,Blockbuster, Popeye's, Taco Bell, McDonalds, grocery store, Target, you name it). As we drive along he just shouts out the names to me. He's really into shadows right now, as well as the sun and the moon. He has been recently singing me songs about imagination. The other day, he saw a reflection of Levi in the window and told me he saw Levi's imagination. Oops, guess he got those words confused. But I love that he is trying to use big vocabulary. He has had a good time helping me pack boxes for the move and is itching to do more. I'm thankful that Ethan has such a kind heart ... he loves to help everyone and has plenty of hugs, kisses, and sweet words to go along with it.

Ok, so I could talk about the boys forever. I'll give it a rest...for now.

Lead scare

Yesterday morning, I received a call from the lab saying I was to schedule an appointment with Levi's doctor ASAP due to toxic levels of lead found in his blood. Talk about scare me to death! Jon met me at the doctor's office where we found out next to nothing from the doctor. She said to come back in 3 months to get tested again. And that was the end of her advice. Jon and I did some searching on the internet (and Dad called a doctor friend who confirmed it all) and finally understood more of what was going on. We are stopping the boys from drinking any water from the faucets and arranging to have some testing done on the house. Until they find out the source, we're just doing what we can to minimize exposure to things we suspect might contain the lead. Please pray for our child in the womb. I don't have an appointment with my doctor for another 3 weeks and am a bit anxious as to what affects the lead might have on my pregnancy.
On the brighter side, our offer on the house was accepted. This may mean we're getting the kids out of this unhealthy environment!

Coming Soon

Birthday pictures will be posted as soon as I'm able to download them from Annie's digital camera. Stay tuned...

Beautiful Day

Ethan and I took advantage of the lovely 78 degree weather and spent the afternoon playing outside.

Like a true boy, Ethan loves to search for sticks. Here is what he called his "octopus stick".

Levi woke up from his nap to see what all the commotion was about.
